We’re closing down the Pearl Room to bring you a private mixed media storytelling event featuring stellar Portlander's telling true 'MEET CUTE' stories in all kinds of forms: the OG straight up way, and through film, poetry, and video shorts.

There will be a bar with NA cocktails from FOR BITTER FOR WORSE, Full A spirits from NEW DEAL distillery, and other delightful liquids.

EDEN DAWN & ASHOD SIMONIAN EDEN is a Guinness World Record holder, an award-winning journalist, co-producer/narrator of the Slaying a Drag-a-Thon podcast. ASHOD is an author, illustrator, photographer, director and co-owner of Imaginary Authors Unisex Perfume, and All-around rabble-rouser. Together they authored the best-seller, The Portland Book of Dates.

ASH ALLEN is a writer, comic, and storyteller living in Portland, hailing from Mississippi. She's shared stories about what it was like growing up as a barefoot lesbian in the woods, her gay grandma, what it was like working at a queer sex shop, and so much more. he is a two-time Moth GrandSLAM winner! 

JENNA FLETCHER is a writer, talker, content strategist, and chronic dabbler who’s been making work in Portland for over a decade. Her work is largely interested in extemporaneous confessional, vaguely romantic encounters, and attempting to capture a photo she wasn’t able to take. She’s trying to make the self-appointed title “Poet Laureate of Crushes” catch on. She thinks it’s kinda working. S

CHRIS WILLIAMS is a part of Broke Gravy improv and producer of Front Porch Sessions. Chris was a shy kid born and raised in Michigan, and eventually gave voice to his imagination—and has spent the last 15 years living and playing in Portland. The beauty of the PNW may have won his heart but it’s his community of amazing people that keeps him there. He is the most winning BACKFENCE: Roulette storyteller and performed improv and stories all over the place.

MIKEY SHETHAR is a chef, food consultant, people connector, culinary innovator, world traveler and lover of all things edible. His work and life are built around food, and new, delicious adventures. A graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Napa Valley has been working in many different parts of the edible world. As a chef on a 400-acre organic farm in the Pacific Northwest and a chef instructor with LiveWell Colorado in the K-12 public school system, training staff to cook healthy scratch food for the students. Then all over the world to work as a culinary innovation consultant to invent and develop new product lines, packaging and food prototypes. Hosts a food podcast with his wife called Mikey and Rinne Eat In, where we tell profanity laden stories about our lives and interview fun creators in the food world. Look for him out in Portland with his wife Rinne, new baby Riggs and  puppy Aubbie. 

 

KATHERINE MORGAN is the author of No Self-Respecting Woman. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming at Huffington Post, Bitch Media, LitHub, The Rumpus, and HelloGiggles, among others. Katherine’s work has been nominated for the two Best of Net awards. She owns Grand Gesture Books, an independent romance bookstore. You can often find her snuggling with her cat Ramona while watching The Golden Girls on repeat.
