Talk of the Town invites special guests to tell us all about the amazing things they are up to in the City of Roses. These special guests are Portlanders who’re making art, making food, or making a difference! Their stories and lives become inspiration for our hilarious team of improv comedians as they create characters and scenes on the spot that will have you in stitches. Previous guests include folks from Portland Center Stage, Desert Island Studios, Trans Voices Cabaret, Shady Pines Radio, Rose City Rollers, Hey Doc Clinic, Red Sauce Pizza, Portland Playhouse, Girls on the Run, Masala Lab, Cereus PDX, Women with Moxie, Sao Noi, Anatomy Tattoo, and many more!

Our guest this month is Kyleen King!

Kyleen King (she/her) has been a professional musician for well over 20 years, as a session and touring multi-instrumentalist/vocalist, arranger, composer, teacher, and producer. Currently she is a graduate student at Boise State University pursuing a master’s degree in social work, a social work Intern at Wild Heart Society, and Chair of the AFM Local 99 Mental Health Committee. Kyleen is dedicated to providing mental health and resource support to musicians and other creatives. She plans to continue working as a professional musician, run a private therapy practice (once licensed as a social worker), facilitate a bi-monthly support group for musicians, and work with various people and organizations to provide resource support to and improve the well-being of musicians/creatives in society.
